The Rise and Hopeful Fall of AI Psychic Readings

My take on AI in the Psychic and Personal Growth Space, and the Red Flags and Signs that I am seeing so far. 

Over the past few years, artificial intelligence has found its way into nearly every industry imaginable. From customer service to content creation, AI tools have become increasingly common. I myself use AI to aid me with grammar and spelling errors, even while writing this blog posting. For me, AI has actually helped me to become a better writer and have confidence in my writing. This is how I am now able to revamp my blog and feel like I can produce REAL content.  

Today, some individuals are using AI responses to provide Psychic Readings, Tarot interpretations, spiritual guidance, and relationship advice. In some cases, clients may not even realize that the reading they paid for was made using AI by a computer program. While I encourage people to use AI to learn Tarot on their own or to help them with dream interpretations or intuition building, that is personal use.

AI in the Psychic Industry is becoming a plague that I am going to fight against until my last breath. I pride myself on being authentic and transparent and cannot stand when people take advantage of vulnerable people and manipulate trust. 

From Ms. Cleo to AI | How the Psychic Industry Has Changed

I have been providing Psychic Readings for more than 26 years, and during that time I have watched this industry evolve in many ways.

I've seen the rise of Television Psychics, Psychic hotlines, internet readings, live chat platforms, video Readings, and social media Psychics. Many people will remember the days when Ms. Cleo commercials seemed to be everywhere. Long before smartphones and artificial intelligence, consumers were already trying to determine which readers were genuine and which were not.

Every few years, a new trend appears that seems to change the Psychic Industry forever. Some changes make Readings more accessible and help connect readers with clients around the world. Others create new concerns about authenticity and trust.

Today, the newest trend is Artificial Intelligence. Wonderful in so many ways, but someone always has to rock the boat and use it for nefarious purposes. 

Unlike previous technological changes, AI is unique because it can imitate the appearance of a Psychic Reading. It can generate spiritual guidance, Tarot interpretations, relationship advice, and lengthy responses within seconds. To many consumers, these responses can appear convincing.

However, AI is not Psychic!

It does not possess Intuition, Mediumship abilities, Clairvoyance, Empathy, life experience, or a genuine energetic connection with the client. It generates responses based on patterns in data rather than real and true Intuition. 

Why This Matters

When most people purchase a Psychic Reading, they believe they are paying for a human being's intuition, spiritual connection, experience, and interpretation.

A psychic reading is not simply a collection of words arranged into paragraphs. Clients seek readings because they want insight from another person who is actively engaging with their question and providing guidance based on their abilities and experience.

If a reading is being generated by AI without the client's knowledge, that creates an issue of Breach of Trust.  

Transparency matters.

Consumers deserve to know exactly what they are paying for.

Signs a Psychic May Be Using AI

While there is no way to know with absolute certainty what happens behind the scenes, there are several warning signs that clients should be aware of. (I am sure this will be added to as AI becomes stronger)

1. The Reading Sounds Like a Self-Help Article

AI often produces polished, professional-looking responses that read more like a motivational article than a personal psychic reading.

If the reading feels generic, educational, or detached from your actual question, it may be worth paying closer attention.

2. The Response Is Extremely Long and Arrives Almost Instantly

Thoughtful readings often take time. When I am conducting my readings. I am not paying attention to spelling or grammar. I am just doing whatever I can to get the information out before I lose it, and also minding the time someone is paying for. Some people are naturally gifted with insane typing skills, grammar skills and able to pump out tons of info in a short period but, there will always be flaws. 

If you receive several pages of perfectly formatted text within seconds of asking your question, it may be reasonable to wonder how that response was created.

3. The Reading Avoids Specific Details

AI tends to stay broad and noncommittal.

Statements such as:

• "You are entering a period of growth."

• "Trust your intuition."

• "Communication is important."

• "The universe is guiding you."

• "Your person will come when you are ready." 

can apply to almost anyone.

While these statements are not necessarily wrong, genuine Readings should contain observations that feel more connected to your specific circumstances and add to what you already know or feel, such as:

• "Your intuition is correct about your POI. I am confirming this for you, and also, here are the other things that I can add to that. X, Y, Z" 

4. Every Reading Sounds Like Mass-Produced Cakes Taste

If every client appears to receive the same writing style, structure, advice, or repeated phrases regardless of the question asked, there may be more AI involved than intuition. It will sound bland, artificial, and good enough. But never accept good enough. 

Always ask yourself, DOES THIS RESONATE WITH ME??

5. The Reader Never Explains Their Process or Has a Hard Time Explaining What Their Gifts Are

Professional Readers should be able to explain how they work. What are their gifts and what tools do they use? 

Whether they use Tarot, Mediumship, Clairvoyance, Claircognizance, Energy work, or another method, they should have no problem discussing their process with clients.

6. The Reading Feels Like A Lot Of Information But Empty

One common characteristic of AI Readings is that it can sound impressive while saying very little.

You may read several paragraphs and still feel as though your actual question was never addressed.

7. The Reader's Writing Style Changes Dramatically

If the Psychic's social media posts, website content, emails, and personal conversations sound completely different from the readings they provide, it may indicate that another tool is involved in producing the final response.

I will note here that I do not fault anyone for using AI tools for Content for Social Networking. So, someone using AI to aid in marketing, etc., as long as it is not stealing or harming anyone. I myself use Canva to create my logo and photos for my blog postings and social. I use Grammarly for my blog to polish up spelling and grammar errors. So, someone can be polished in their marketing and blog and not give AI - Readings. 

If you have spoken to someone for a long time and suddenly their voice changes, you have the right to ask them why. People are improving always, but a noticable change in writing style is a huge red flag. 

8. Every Question Receives an Answer at the Same Speed

Not every question requires the same amount of time to answer.

If every reading is returned in nearly identical time regardless of complexity, clients may wish to ask additional questions about how the service is being performed.

Questions Every Client Should Ask

Before purchasing a reading, consider asking:

• Do you use AI in any part of your service?

• How do you conduct your Readings?

• What Tools or methods do you use?

• Are the responses I receive written by you?

A professional reader should have no problem answering these questions honestly.

The Issue Isn't Technology

To be clear, technology itself is not the problem.

Most businesses use technology every day. Scheduling systems, payment processors, websites, email services, and marketing tools all help business owners serve their clients more effectively.

The concern arises when clients pay for A SERVICE and receive AI answers without disclosure. Anyone can do this on their own for FREE if that is what they wanted. 

There is a significant difference between using technology to run a business and using technology to replace the service being sold.

Final Thoughts

After more than 26 years in the Psychic industry, I have seen countless trends come and go. Some disappeared almost as quickly as they arrived. Others became permanent parts of the industry.

Only time will tell where AI ultimately fits into that picture.

What I do know is that trust, honesty, experience, and authentic human connection remain some of the most valuable things a psychic can offer.

The rise of AI Psychic Readings may be underway, but I remain hopeful that people will continue to recognize the difference between an AI Reading and a Genuine Reading from a real person.

Ask questions. Do your research. Know what you're purchasing.

Most importantly, choose readers who are transparent about their process and committed to providing the service they promise.
